Born in New York State, Trisha first came to Canada in 1969 to attend Sheridan College in Oakville, Ontario. After she graduated, Trisha spent time in Europe where she became inspired by the magic of Europe. After a couple of years, she came back to Toronto and started a job selling other people’s paintings. Trisha met Gary Peterson while working, and soon he was selling her paintings. Gary and Trisha got married. Gary introduces Trisha to one of his favorite places when he was a child- Niagara-on-the-Lake, and she fell in love.Trisha has her home and studio in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Many of her watercolor paintings depict the idyllic lifestyle of the turn of the century in Niagara-on-the-Lake, using the town, her house, and her family as models. Trisha Romance has been awarded the Order of Ontario, was named Canadian Artist of the Year, has been an Olympic torchbearer, was recently awarded the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal, and has completed hundreds of paintings.
