Located beside our downtown Toronto pickup point at Ripley's Aquarium of Canada, the CN Tower rises high above the skyline and is one of the first landmarks guests see as they begin their journey with us.
Groundbreaking for the tower took place on February 6, 1973. After 40 months of construction, it officially opened to the public on June 26, 1976. Built by Canadian National Railway to demonstrate the strength of Canadian industry and engineering, the tower quickly became a global icon.
At 553.33 metres (1,815 feet), it held the record as the tallest freestanding structure in the world for more than three decades and remains the tallest in the Western Hemisphere. In 1995, it was named one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World by the American Society of Civil Engineers.
Today, visitors can experience:
At the top, the communications antenna continues to broadcast television, radio, and wireless transmissions across the region — serving the very purpose the tower was originally built for.
Located beside our pickup point at Ripley's Aquarium of Canada, the CN Tower is part of your experience from the very start. As we depart Toronto and begin the drive toward Niagara Falls, the tower remains visible for miles...a powerful symbol of the city we’re leaving behind as your journey transitions from skyline to natural wonder.
